Lionesses boss Sarina Wiegman will use tonight’s friendly with Austria and next week’s clash against Italy to experiment.

England are currently in Spain for a warm-weather training camp and Wiegman wants to “try out some things” ahead of the qualifiers for Euro 2025 beginning in April.

She will be forced to experiment at centre-back as preferred pairing Leah Williamson and Millie Bright are both out injured.

Goalkeeper Khiara Keating, who has impressed at Manchester City this season, and midfielder Grace Clinton, who has scored five goals for Tottenham while on loan from Manchester United, could make their debuts tonight or when England face Italy on Tuesday.

“This is really the start of our Euros campaign,” said Wiegman.

“After a good camp in December but the very disappointing result of not qualifying for the [Nations League] play-offs to qualify for the Olympics, we have moved on.

“This is the start, with two friendlies, which is really good for us because we can try out some things.”
