England at Euro 2016: Chantilly hotel, location, training base, security and everything you need to know

England are busy preparing for Euro 2016 after arriving at their Chantilly training base on Monday afternoon.

While doubts still hang over Jamie Vardy's long-term fate as the Leicester striker mulls over a potential £20million transfer to Arsenal, Roy Hodgson has told his players to concentrate on Euro 2016 and ignore their club futures.

With a deal yet to be finalised, Standard Sport understands that Arsene Wenger is prepared to wait for an answer until after the tournament starts.

However, Hodgson is understandably keen to have Vardy and the rest of his squad fully focused in France.

With England's opening game against Russia on June 11 fast approaching, Standard Sport takes a closer look at where the Three Lions will be staying...

Location

Chantilly, a 30-minute train ride north of Paris, is home to the famous Chantilly racecourse, and is regarded as the French Ascot.

There is a large English community among the 11,000 inhabitants with an ‘English shop’ among the attractions and a local cricket team.

Hotel

England are staying at the luxurious, five-star Auberge du Jeu de Paume hotel, where rooms can cost £500-a-night.

The Football Association have booked all out 92 rooms for the duration of the Championships.

England have their own chef but the Auberge has won an award for the best hotel food in Europe.

Any extra facilities?

The FA have helped improve the players’ experience by providing consoles and setting up cinema rooms.

Training base

England are using the Stades des Bourgognes, where local side US Chantilly play.

It is a five-minute drive from their hotel and, to prevent any spying, coach Roy Hodgson has had 9ft fences erected around the pitch.

England flew in a pitch expert and grass seeds from their St George’s Park HQ to create two new pitches as the previous ones were not up to the standard they required.

Transport

Despite being so close to the hotel, the England players will travel by coach to training every day.

Security

Jeremy Selwyn

Extra security has been provided in view of terrorist threats.

The hotel and training base will have armed guards at all times.
