Emmanuel Frimpong has completed his switch from Arsenal to Barnsley for an undisclosed fee, but the midfielder appears to be unhappy about his romantic opportunities in Yorkshire.

Frimpong, 22, tweeted: “How am I gonna draw girls now”, before later deleting the post.

He then acknowledged his new fans with a picture of himself holding a Barnsley shirt and writing: “Hello @bfc_official Hope to see all the Fans there tomoz big derby Game.”

If the Ghanaian international does make his debut against local rivals Sheffield Wednesday, it will be his first competitive appearance of the season after falling out of favour under former boss Arsene Wenger.

The midfielder played just 14 times last season and had not featured in the Premier League since 2011, instead spending respective loans spells at Wolves, Charlton and Fulham in a bid to get regular football.

However, a series of injuries meant he was not able to hold down a starting place at any club.
