Daryl Janmaat insists that Watford can stop runaway leaders Manchester City on Tuesday.

The Hornets travel to the Etihad Stadium on a run of five defeats in their past six games.

City beat Watford 6-0 at Vicarage Road in September and they had won 18 Premier League games in a row before they drew 0-0 at Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day.

Janmaat concedes that Pep Guardiola’s side could go the whole season unbeaten but the defender believes Watford can get a positive result.

“There is always a way to find a result,” said Janmaat. “Maybe they get a bad day. We have to go there to try to get a result because otherwise you better stay at home if you do not go there for something. It is going to be hard, that is clear...

“I think they have the best players in the league, almost in every position.

“They have a really good manager, they are unbelievable at the moment.”
