Darren Bent glad to be forgotten after 'mad' transfer deals

Darren Bent says the "crazy" sums paid for Andy Carroll and Fernando Torres have taken the pressure off him after his £24million switch.

The striker's move from Sunderland to Aston Villa last month was dwarfed by Carroll's £35m transfer from Newcastle to Liverpool and Torres leaving Anfield for Chelsea in a £50m deal.

"It was mad," said Bent. "My fee has been eclipsed so a lot of people seem to have forgotten about my transfer and I've just got on with it."
