Crystal Palace's move for Tom Ince 'in the balance' - sporting director Iain Moody

Crystal Palace's sporting director Iain Moody has admitted that Tom Ince's move to Crystal Palace is 'in the balance'.

The England Under 21 winger is currently at Palace's training ground in Beckenham, south London having completed a medical yesterday and agreed terms to join the Eagles on loan. But it is understood that Blackpool owner Karl Oyston is now having second thoughts about the deal, which would see Palace pay £1m to sign Ince until the end of the season.

"It's still in the balance," Moody told Standard Sport.

"Ultimately we can't control what Blackpool want to do - Oyston is the man who has the whole deal in his hands. If we get to 10 o'clock and nothing is decided then he will be left with a choice of not keeping Tom or letting him come to us for a good chunk of money."

Ince, whose deal at Blackpool expires in the summer, has held talks with a number of clubs this week without reaching an agreement. But despite reports Stoke City are in contention having made a bid to the 22-year-old permanently, Moody believes only Palace are in the frame.

Having already confirmed the signings of Wayne Hennessey and Jason Puncheon on a permanent deal to make space for Ince, Palace are also closing in Blackburn defender Scott Dann. The 26-year-old has been in negotiations all day after his club granted him permission and Moody is hopeful an agreement can be reached.

However, with rumours linking Palace for a swoop for Rovers striker Leon Best, Moody denied they are interested in a signing a striker.

Celtic midfielder Joe Ledley could be also be on his way to Selhurst Park after the Scottish champions accepted a bid of £700,000. The Welsh international is on his way for talks, although Moody admitted personal terms have still not been agreed.
