Crystal Palace are willing to sell Christian Benteke this summer, leaving the striker with an uncertain future with club and country after he was left out of Belgium’s World Cup squad.

Benteke scored just three goals last season and Palace want to recoup some of the £27million they paid Liverpool for him in 2016.

Benteke could make a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League if he does leave Palace.

He was the subject of a bid from Beijing Guoan last year and is likely to have interest from the Far East despite his poor form for Palace last term.

Belgium manager Roberto Martinez named his final World Cup squad today and explained why Benteke had been left out.

Martinez said: “Christian Benteke has been the toughest decision. But it is for the balance of the squad. We have two number 9s and Michy Batshuayi and Romelu Lukaku have taken those positions.”
