Crystal Palace have confirmed the signing of Norway striker Alexander Sorloth on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

The 22-year-old forward bolsters Roy Hodgson's front line with a decent recent of 15 goals and nine assists in 26 matches for FC Midtjylland in the 2017-18 season so far.

Sorloth, who will wear the No.9 shirt at Selhurst Park, told Palace TV: “It's a big club with ambition, a good club who takes good care of its players.

"It feels amazing, it's a dream come true to play in the Premier League.

"I've dreamt about this since I was six years old.

"My short term aim is to try get my debut as quickly as possible, show my skills on the training ground - and hopefully the manager likes what he sees."

The striker, who has played in three countries, added: "It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster.

"It started a bit shaky in Rosenborg before going on loan to FK Bodø/Glimt and I did really well there.

"I then changed to Holland [Groningen] - had some ups and downs, but then I went to Denmark where it [my career] went straight up - and I think I've have had the best six months of my career.

"It was amazing - right from the get go, I did really well - and that's what it's all about."
