Weak up top: Warnock has highlighted a need for offensive reinforcements

Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish says there is no desperate need for Palace to enter the transfer market in January.

The Eagles are hovering precariously above the Premier League drop zone and manager Neil Warnock said earlier this month he was lacking 'that quality at the front'.

Palace have scored 19 goals in 16 Premier League games, with just nine of those coming at Selhurst Park, and sit one point above the relegation zone.

But Parish has confidence in the players at Warnock's disposal and, though the club are readying bids ahead of the New Year transfer window, believes the current group of players are more than capable of doing the job.

“We are always in a position to spend if we need to. We made a bid yesterday on one player from abroad and we are definitely looking at one or two positions. But we are confident in the group that we have got, so we are not desperate to bring people in.”

The Palace supremo also confirmed striker Marouane Chamakh will be out for a month following an injury sustained in the draw with Stoke.
