Crunch dates for West Ham's fate

Two days in May could be key to West Ham’s short and long-term future.

The Championship Play-off Final is on Saturday May 19 and while the Upton Park club are still hopeful of automatic promotion, manager Sam Allardyce has conceded his team may need to win all six remaining games to reach that goal.

Two days later is an even more crucial date for West Ham when they will learn whether their bid to become an anchor tenant at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, has been successful.

West Ham are one of four bidders for main use of the stadium post this summer’s Games. A consortium including Essex County Crickety Club and the University of East London has submitted a proposal while concert promoters Live Nation are rumoured to be one of two as yet un-named further bidders.

West Ham are adamant that no seats will be further away that those at Wembley.
