Chelsea's David Luiz: Eden Hazard's wonder goal against Arsenal reminded me of Ronaldinho

David Luiz says Eden Hazard’s wonder goal in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Arsenal reminded him of former Barcelona and Brazil virtuoso Ronaldinho.

Chelsea’s Belgian wonder lit up Stamford Bridge with the second goal of the league leaders’ hammering of their North London rivals, leaving home fans enraptured and ending Arsenal’s title challenge in style.

Picking the ball up on halfway Hazard slalomed past Laurent Koscielny before holding off Francis Coquelin, who failed to even foul his opponent. Bearing down on goal he turned Koscielny left and right before punting a chip over Cech.

The strike will doubtless be a contender for goal of the season and Luiz offered Hazard copious praise for the strike, which he felt was worthy of comparison with the litany of great goals scored by his compatriot Ronaldinho, the 2005 Ballon d’Or winner.

“It was fantastic,” Luiz told reporters. “It reminded me a bit of Ronaldinho – it was amazing.

“I love Eden’s talent and I love him as a person so I enjoy having this kind of person in my team.”
