Chelsea have agreed terms for the permanent sale of Alvaro Morata to Atletico Madrid.

Morata agreed an 18-month loan move to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in January and will see out the final 12 months of that agreement on loan in Madrid.

His permanent move to Atleti will be effective from July 1, 2020.

Morata arrived at Chelsea in 2017, scoring 24 goal in 72 appearances across all competitions. The Spain international won the FA Cup during his first season under Antonio Conte but struggled to nail down a regular role under Maurizio Sarri last term.

Sarri preferred to play Eden Hazard in a central role and sanctioned Morata's departure to Madrid during the winter transfer window earlier in 2019.
