It may be January sales time but for many of England’s biggest clubs now is the time to start planning their summer business.

Real Madrid loom large as ever in the marketplace, with reports that Gareth Bale is the primary object of affection for many of the Premier League’s biggest sides.

Manchester United have long been at the forefront of attempts to bring the Welsh wizard back to the Premier League, but reports today have claimed that Chelsea are ready to join them in a summer battle for Bale.

It comes just a day after Standard Sport reported that Madrid would step up their pursuit of Eden Hazard under new manager Zinedine Zidane.
