On a wing and a prayer: Marko Marin has failed to impress at Anderlecht
Simon Johnson25 March 2015

Chelsea flop Marko Marin has suffered another blow after Anderlecht decided to pull out of a deal to buy the winger this summer.

The 26-year-old joined the Belgian club on loan in January in view of making a permanent £4.4m switch at the end of the campaign.

However, Marin has failed to make an impact. He has started just five matches and now been ruled out for several weeks with a hamstring problem.

Anderlecht have already informed Chelsea that they won't be taking up their option to buy the German international.

It means Chelsea, who signed him from Werder Bremen for £7m in 2012, will once again be trying to offload him during the next transfer window.

Since moving to the Blues he has made just 16 appearances, all of which was in his debut year at the club.

He spent last season on loan at Sevilla and the first half of this one at Fiorentina, but neither club wanted to buy the winger either.
