Cole Palmer will have to wait to make his debut against Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer first appearance for Chelsea it set to come from the bench, with Mauricio Pochettino naming him among the substitutes after his deadline-day move from Manchester City.

Mykhailo Mudryk has the last two matches with a tight muscle but returns to the bench, but Pochettino has a sizeable group of nine players still out for the 3pm kick-off.

Christopher Nkunku, Reece James, Armando Broja, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, Carney Chukwuemeka, Romeo Lavia and Marcus Bettinelli have all been ruled out.

Chelsea continue with Robert Sanchez in goal in front of a defence featuring Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill.

Conor Gallagher starts in midfield after potential move to Tottenham failed to materialise on deadline day, alongside Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson and Ben Chilwell all keep their places too.
