Lionel Messi returns to full training for Barcelona ahead of LaLiga restart

Lionel Messi returned to full training for Barcelona on Monday ahead of the Catalans' LaLiga restart next Saturday.

The Argentine missed the sessions on Wednesday and Friday after a knock on Tuesday and trained alone at Camp Nou on Saturday as his team-mates took part in a practice match.

Right-back Nelson Semedo was also back in full training after experiencing some discomfort in his knee over the last few days, meaning coach Quique Setien had all of his players at his disposal on Monday.

Setien said on Sunday night that Messi will be 'perfectly fine' to start for Barca in their trip to Mallorca next Saturday as LaLiga resumes following three months of inactivity due to coronavirus.

Messi is top scorer in the competition this season with 19 goals in his 22 appearances and the six-time Ballon d'Or winner will be boosted by the return of Luis Suarez, who was given the green light to return on Saturday after almost five months on the sidelines due to knee surgery.

Barca lead LaLiga by two points from fierce rivals Real Madrid with 11 rounds remaining.
