But Villa have reason to be confident too, with wins over Brighton and Crystal Palace giving their new manager the perfect start.
Guardiola has bemoaned his side’s injury problems, and will have to make a late decision on the fitness of Jack Grealish and Phil Foden, with Kevin De Bruyne likely to miss out despite producing a negative Covid-19 test. Villa will be without Bertrand Traore and Trezeguet.
