Arsene Wenger believes Chelsea are in full control of the Premier League title race after the Blues secured a 3-1 derby win over London rivals Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Goals from Marcos Alonso, Eden Hazard and former Gunners midfielder Cesc Fabregas helped Antonio Conte's side exact revenge for Arsenal's 3-0 win over them in the reverse fixture in September - a result that sent Chelsea 12 points clear of the north Londoners.

After the game, Wenger - who spent the match watching on from the stands due to his four-game touchline ban - conceded that Chelsea are in a "very strong" position and are now in complete control of their destiny in the race for the top-flight trophy this season.

"They look in full confidence - powerful and strong," Wenger said when asked whether Chelsea are set to be crowned champions in May.

"It's for them to lose it. They are in a very, very strong position. We must focus to win the next game."

When then asked whether it was frustrating to have to watch such a clash from the stands, Wenger replied: "It's very frustrating.

"I cannot do my job like I want to do it but I have to pay for what I did and I accept it. It's frustrating to watch from upstairs because you sit next to people who are get up and talk on the phone."
