Alex Iwobi says he is living the dream of playing alongside Arsenal stars Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Less than a year after making his first-team debut in a League Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday Iwobi has firmly established himself in Arsene Wenger’s strongest side, starting the last four Premier League matches.

The 19-year-old won the man of the match award in last month’s 3-0 win over Chelsea and has earned plentiful praise from Ozil, who said of Iwobi: “He knows exactly what he can do. He isn’t scared and doesn’t hide on the pitch. He just wants to have fun playing football.”

But for Iwobi the chance to line up alongside Ozil, Sanchez and company is as much fun as anything else.

Speaking at the NFL House opening party, Iwobi said: “It’s a young man’s dream to play with such players. Ever since I’ve been training with them I always feel like I’m improving and I’m learning things to do.

“They always help me on and off the pitch, it helps me and does make me the person I am today.”

With Iwobi a regular in the side Arsenal have enjoyed an exceptional recent run of results, winning their last seven games in all competitions.

Victory over Middlesbrough tomorrow would take the Gunners top of the table but Iwobi insists it is too soon for title talk.

“It's early doors but everyone is in the Premier League will try and win it. We believe the strong start we’ve had and the players we’ve got we can be title contenders.”
