Arsenal youngster Sam Greenwood is expected to join Leeds United on Thursday.

The 18-year-old forward joined Arsenal from Sunderland two years ago but is now set to move to Elland Road.

Leeds have been chasing Greenwood and firmed up their interest earlier this week ahead of a permanent move.

The teenager has agreed personal terms with the newly-promoted Premier League club and reports claim a fee for him could eventually rise to £3million.

“I want to say a big thank you to Arsenal and the supporters for the last 2 years of my career,” Greenwood wrote on Instagram.

“Been an honour to play for the club while meeting some special people and making even better memories.”

Prior to agreeing to join Leeds, Greenwood had been linked with other clubs around Europe - most notably AC Milan.

The forward had also been linked with a switch to Manchester United, but he has now decided to work under Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds.
