Arsene Wenger believes that Liverpool's decision to sell Raheem Sterling this summer could be one they come to regret.

The Arsenal boss, whose side take on the Reds at the Emirates tonight, feels the £49m deal might not prove good value for his opponents.

"I personally rate Raheem Sterling. We will see that in the longer term," he added: "I personally don't think that Sterling was making a lot of drama. It's just during the transfer window that that happened.

"Liverpool is in a position they can make their own decisions," he said. "They refused to sell us [Luis] Suarez, so I cannot feel too much sympathy for them.

"During the season, the boy was quiet - never made any stupid statement. I don't think he made too much noise. He's a quality player."

Arsenal host Liverpool tonight, with Wenger hoping to claim the three points that will take his side to sox for the season.

With Adam Lallana a doubt, Brazilian Roberto Firmino could make his first competitive start for Brendan Rodgers' side.
