Arsenal offer West Ham chance to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles before transfer deadline

West Ham have been offered the chance to make a move for Ainsley Maitland-Niles, with Arsenal looking to offload the midfielder before the transfer window shuts.

The Hammers are now keeping tabs on the player, but he is currently not a priority for them. Maitland-Niles has one year left to run on his current contract at Arsenal and wants a new challenge.

He is hoping to secure an exit before the transfer window shuts for business on September 1, but so far there have not been any concrete approaches for his signature.

West Ham are one of the clubs to have been sounded out over a potential swoop for the 24-year-old, however they are currently focusing on other deals amid interest in Club Brugge captain Hans Vanaken and Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.

Maitland-Niles could become an option later in the window, but even then it is thought that West Ham may prefer to take the player on loan.

Arsenal, however, want to secure a permanent move for Maitland-Niles and not lose him for free when his contract expires next summer.
