AC Milan are considering a loan move for Arsenal forward Joel Campbell.

Campbell had hoped to break through at Emirates Stadium this season after an outstanding World Cup, in which he helped outsiders Costa Rica reach the quarter-finals.

Yet with Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Yaya Sanogo all ahead of him in the plans of Arsene Wenger, Campbell, 22, appears likely to be packing his bags once again.

Earlier this month Wenger praised the striker after he scored his first goal for the Gunners in the Emirates Cup 5-1 win against Benfica.

Speaking to the Arsenal website, he said: 'Campbell has done very well. I like the way he plays, he's good on the ball, creative and collectively as well he has a good balance between individual skill and collective attitude - that's not easy to find.'
