Arsenal will face a trip to Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup.

The holders return to the competition with an enviable record, having won the oldest cup competition in the world a record 13 times.

That includes three of the last four FA Cups, making Arsene Wenger the most successful manager in the competition’s history with seven wins.

Wenger secured that accolade with an outstanding 2-1 win over Chelsea in the 2017 FA Cup Final, after which he signed a new two-year contract in a bid to add further silverware to his formidable CV.

“I’m very proud because nobody has done it since 18-god-knows when,” Wenger said of his record win in May. “It’s not easy.

“I’m especially proud because of the way we have won it this season by beating Manchester City in the semi-final and Chelsea, and you cannot get tougher.

“You cannot get tougher than that. This cup was won with a special attitude.

“For once I have kept my medal and that means it’s a special night for me.”
