Arsenal player ratings vs Olympiacos: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has an off-night on Gunners return

Arsenal progressed to the quarter-finals of the Europa League despite losing the second leg of their last-16 tie to Olympiacos 1-0.

Simon Collings was at Emirates Stadium to rate Mikel Arteta’s side...

Bernd Leno 6

A pretty quiet night for the German and he could do little about the Olympiacos goal. Made a brilliant save in the first-half to deny Youssef El-Arabi.

Hector Bellerin 6

Was fine and didn’t really make any errors. Performance, however, strengthened Cedric Soares’ hopes of being the first-choice right-back.

David Luiz 6

Not the rock he has been in recent weeks, but marginally better than his centre-back partner. Looked tired towards the end and in need of a rest.

Gabriel 5

A rare blip from the Brazilian, who has been excellent recently. Caught out a few times by a simple long ball forward.

Kieran Tierney 6

Got forward a few times and put in some nice balls, however like the rest of the team he was a bit off the pace tonight.

Mohamed Elneny 5

Lots of energy and was his usual busy self, but failed to really make an impact. Hooked before the hour mark for Thomas Partey.

Granit Xhaka 5

Didn’t control the game like he usually does and not as solid as he is when alongside Thomas Partey.

Nicolas Pepe 6

Some bright moments out wide and looked the most likely of Arsenal’s players to score. Will be frustrated he didn’t make more of this chance to start.

Dani Ceballos 5

Had a few nice moments and passes, but didn’t really suit playing as the team’s No10. Taken off before the hour mark for Martin Odegaard.

Emile Smith Rowe 6

Nowhere near the level he was on Sunday against Tottenham, but better than some of his team-mates on a poor night.

Pierre-Emerick Aubamyang 4

A very quiet return for the captain. Missed a golden chance in each half that you’d expect him to bury usually, and then one late on too.

Substitutions

Thomas Partey (Elneny 55’) 5

Came on and initially steadied the ship, but then got sloppy towards the end of the game.

Martin Odegaard (Ceballos 55’) 6

Looked bright off the bench and created some good chances.

Gabriel Martinelli (Smith Rowe 82’) N/A

Calum Chambers (Bellerin 82’) N/A

Subs not used: Ryan, Okwonko, Chambers, Mari, Holding, Cedric, Martinelli, Nelson, Nketiah, Lacazette.
