Arsenal fans can't enjoy wins because trouble is never far away, says Thierry Henry

Thierry Henry has claimed Arsenal fans cannot truly celebrate their victories because a poor performance similar to the one which lost them the EFL Cup Final is never far away.

The Gunners have not won more than two consecutive games since October and that inconsistency continued at Wembley yesterday with a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Arsene Wenger’s side have registered just six wins away from home in all competitions this season and Henry told Sky Sports: “The problem that they have, not only Arsene, not only the players, but as a team, is consistency.

“We go back to the same thing: you need to be consistent. We’ve seen them beat Chelsea just before the Carabao Cup Final. We’ve seen them doing well at home against teams and in some good games down the years, at home in the Champions League, in the League. But then the consistency is not always there.

“You need to sometimes have some good games away from home. Losing at Bournemouth, losing at Swansea… I’m not going to mention what happened in the Europa League the other day [losing to Ostersund at Emirates Stadium] because they are through.

“But they lost against City. You want to be excited sometimes after they are playing well against a good team but you tend to calm yourself down because you don’t know what is going to happen next.

“That is the story for everybody involved with Arsenal, especially the fans. You cannot brag about the win because you think ‘mmm, hang on a minute, maybe next week we might be in trouble’.”
