Arsenal’s versatile 24-year-old Ainsley Maitland-Niles has made a public plea to the club for a move away from the Emirates.

In a very direct message shared with his 455 thousand followers on his Instagram account, the England international tagged Arsenal with a simple message:

“All I wanna do is go where I’m wanted and where I’m gonna play,” he wrote accompanied with three crying emojis.

Recent reports have suggested Mikel Arteta has rejected a bid from Everton to sign Maitland-Niles on loan for the season.

Maitland-Niles, who can play at right back, right wing or in central midfield, came on as a substitute in Arsenal’s 5-0 thrashing by Manchester City at the weekend and started the 6-0 win against West Brom in the League Cup last week.

Suggestions are that the player is unhappy with the lack of consistency regarding his position and wants to remain at fullback where he was selected to play for England last year.

Against City, Cedric started at right back with the Portuguese having a torrid time, making zero successful tackles, dribbles or crosses, and made one mistake that led to a goal.

This social media outburst adds yet another headache for Arteta whose side are bottom of the Premier League table with three defeats from their opening three Premier League matches.

Conversely, Everton are flying under new boss Rafa Benitez and are joint-second heading into the international break following their 2-0 win away to Brighton on Saturday.
