West Ham transfer news: Arnaut Danjuma’s agent confirms deal is ‘unlikely’

Arnaut Danjuma’s agent admits it is “very unlikely” the Villarreal midfielder will join West Ham this summer.

The Dutchman had been linked with a move to east London after an impressive time of it in La Liga following his move from Bournemouth last year, with the 25-year-old playing a key role in their eye-catching Champions League wins over Juventus and Bayern Munich.

David Moyes has targeted up to five more signings this summer in preparation for another European campaign, having already welcomed Nayef Aguerd into his squad.

Alphonse Areola has turned his loan move into a permanent arrangement while Standard Sport understands the club have made a formal offer to Jesse Lingard, now a free agent after leaving Manchester United.

In 34 appearances last season, Danjuma scored 16 times and registered 4 assists. Given the overreliance West Ham have had on Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen, the idea of bringing in that kind of fire would have proven exciting to supporters.

Still, speaking to Cadena SER, agent Michael Moses said: “It is very unlikely that Danjuma will go to West Ham.”

When quizzed as to why, Moses replied: “issues related to personal terms, which have not gone well.”

Moyes’ side are currently on a training camp in France and will return to England for pre-season friendlies with Ipswich, Boreham Wood, Reading and Luton before the end of July.
