Antonio Conte's Chelsea training sessions 'very intense and tactical', says Loic Remy

Chelsea striker Loic Remy is feeling the intensity of Antonio Conte's training sessions and believes the Italian's tactical approach is helping the squad.

Conte started work with the Blues last week and oversaw his first game on Saturday as his side lost to Rapid Vienna in their opening pre-season fixture.

Remy, who missed much of last season through injury, replaced Diego Costa in the second period in Vienna and hopes his return to the pitch marks the start of a fresh chapter at Stamford Bridge.

Remy is the subject of interest from Besiktas - who will turn to him if their bid to sign Mario Gomez fails - but the 29-year-old appears set on making an impression under new manager Conte at Chelsea.

"They are very intense sessions but at the same time you have to work on the basics," Remy told Chelsea's official website when asked about Conte's methods.

"It’s very tactical which is good for us, because as players you need to have direction and know what to do with and without the ball. It’s been very tough but all the players are enjoying working with the new manager.

"We only came back to training at the start of last week but we have to improve in every area.

"Now we have a game on Wednesday and it’s important for us to get a win."
