Antonio Conte plans to keep Paul Pogba quiet on Sunday but ultimately hopes the world record signing is a success at Manchester United.

Conte was in charge of Juventus when Pogba left Manchester United for the Serie A giants in 2012.

Conte helped develop the France international into one of the best midfielders in the world before he took charge of Italy in 2014.

When asked if he has come up with a special game-plan to stop the France star, Conte said: “We must pay attention to the whole Manchester United team. There are a lot of great players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and I consider him a fantastic player. There are many, we must pay attention to all of them. We must find the right solution with and without the ball.

“Pogba came back to England because he was born here in a football aspect. I remember when we (Juventus) took him from Manchester United, he was a fantastic and great player, at the maximum level. He deserves all (he gets).

“To come back to Manchester United was his dream, I wish for him the best but only after the game.”

Chelsea lost to two title rivals in disappointing fashion to Liverpool and Arsenal last month. Conte hopes to see a vast improvement for the visit of Mourinho’s men.

They have won two matches since those setbacks and Conte said: “It’s very important to continue this way. The last game (Leicester) we beat a good team who won the title, this was important.

“On Sunday we face another great team. I want to see progress compared to Arsenal and Liverpool. I am confident about this. I have seen fantastic commitment this week.”
