Antonio Conte has been tipped to be a success in the Premier League should he be appointed as Chelsea's new manager by his successor at Juventus Massimiliano Allegri.

Conte is set to take over the helm at Chelsea this summer after Italian Football Federation President, Carlo Tavecchio, confirmed on Tuesday that the 46-year-old will leave his current post as coach of the Azzurri after this summer's European Championships.

It is believed that Conte has already agreed terms with Chelsea to become the club's new manager on a three-year contract worth £4.75m-a-year after tax.

And should he make the move to England, Allegri - who replaced Conte at Juventus in 2014 - is confident the Italian will thrive in the Premier League.

"Other than a few like Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola, Italian coaches are the best in the world," Allegri said.

"I don't know what Conte will do, if he will go to Chelsea or not. But if he does, he will do very well."
