Antonio Conte admits he must get Chelsea into the Champions League every season while he is at the club.

Conte, who agreed a three-year deal when he was appointed as the club's new manager last April, is firmly on course to take them back into Europe's premier club competition.

Chelsea played in the tournament for 13 successive years, but weren't involved in it this season after finishing a lowly 10th in 2016.

However, they currently boast a 10-point lead at the top of the Premier League and Conte, who is expected to be offered a contract extension, said: "A great team and club like Chelsea has to play in the Champions League every season.

"It is important for us - the Champions League has to be our house to stay.

"It's important to think now about this season and go step by step.

"We have 12 league games till the end of the season to try to reach a dream for me, for the players and for the club. Then we will prepare for next season.

"But when your name is Chelsea, you must always fight to win the Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup, all the competitions."
