Angelo Ogbonna has hailed the "unbelievable" Michail Antonio after the West Ham striker’s 90th-minute winner at Leeds United.

Antonio got West Ham back to winning ways in the Premier League with his fine late effort at Elland Road after a Junior Firpo own goal had cancelled out Raphina’s opener.

It was the striker’s fifth League goal of the season and sixth in all competitions with the 31-year-old tied with Jamie Vardy and Mohamed Salah at the top of the scoring charts in the Premier League having played a game fewer than his two rivals.

“It’s another goal for Michail Antonio and he just likes to score!” said Ogbonna.

“The job that he did today for us was unbelievable and not just him, but the two guys in the middle of the park, Said [Benrahma], Jarrod [Bowen] as well – he played the three games this week and we can’t forget that. I think he did really well.

“All the team did really well and we deserved to win.”

The Hammers are back in European action against Rapid Vienna on Thursday when they play their first Europa League group-stage game at the London Stadium, having won the opener 2-0 away to Dinamo Zagreb two weeks ago.

Ogbonna is relishing playing alongside new signing Kurt Zouma and says the new-found depth in his position is key.

“It’s good to have Kurt here, he’s strong in the air, he’s a good leader. He came from a big club like Chelsea and is used to this kind of game, European games. He can control and read the game, and not just him but everyone,” said Ogbonna.

“We played really well in midweek too — Issa [Diop], Craig [Dawson] and Alphonse [Areola]. We have a very good squad and everyone in West Ham must be proud of that. I can only praise everyone, it’s a good moment and a good run.”
