Ander Herrera has officially been unveiled as a Paris Saint-Germain player following his exit from Manchester United.

Herrera, 29, confirmed before the end of the 2018-19 season that he would be leaving Old Trafford on a free this summer after failing to agree a new deal with United.

The Red Devils had hoped to tie down the Spanish midfielder to a new contract, but Herrera's wage demands - thought to be in excess of £200,000 a week in light of Alexis Sanchez's huge pay packet - meant a summer exit was all but inevitable.

PSG have been able to offer Herrera favourable terms given that they will not have to pay a transfer fee to land the £50m-rated midfielder.

Herrera's arrival solves an immediate midfield problem for the French champions, with Adrien Rabiot joining Juventus on a free having refused a new deal in Paris.

The departure of Herrera could be a costly one for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United given that they were already planning on midfield reinforcements this summer.

Sean Longstaff and Bruno Fernandes are key targets, but Paul Pogba could complicate matters further should he try to push through a move to Real Madrid.
