Amad Diallo had options within the Premier League before joining Rangers on loan from Manchester United.

The Ivory Coast international moved to Old Trafford in a big-money deal from Atalanta in the summer of 2020 but has only made nine appearances for the first-team, having watched the likes of Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo add further competition for places in what was already a fearsome United frontline.

Diallo will now spend the second-half of the season on loan at Ibrox as the Glasgow giants look to retain their Scottish Premiership title as well as overcome Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League later this month.

Speaking to Rangers’ official website, sporting director Ross Wilson said: “Amad and Manchester United had an array of options this window across the Premier League and in Europe, so needless to say, I’m absolutely delighted that we have been able to convince both Manchester United and Amad that Rangers is the perfect place for him to continue to showcase his undoubted and exciting talent.”
