Algeria lead Cameroon as the two sides meet again in the second leg of their World Cup play-off tonight.

Islam Slimani headed in the first-half winner in Douala to provide the Fennec Foxes with the impetus in the two-legged tie, after some stout defending kept Cameroon at bay late on.

Away goals are in effect, so the visitors on Tuesday will have to come up with a big result of their own to secure a spot in the World Cup. After losing to Egypt in the semi-finals when hosting the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, missing out on the World Cup would mark a painful few months for Cameroon.

They failed to qualify for the 2018 tournament but have otherwise been regulars on the world stage in recent decades, whereas Algeria made the last-16 in Brazil eight years ago, just their fourth ever appearance at the tournament, before also failing to reach the World Cup in Russia.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of tonight’s game...

Algeria vs Cameroon team news

New Cameroon boss Rigobert Song stated his unhappiness with Algeria’s defensive approach to the first leg but will likely come up against the same sturdy resistance on Tuesday.

Kevin Soni could start for the visitors, if Song decides to bolster his offensive options.

Algeria are likely to be unchanged yet have veterans Sofiane Feghouli and Adlene Guedioura available to come in from the bench.

Algeria vs Cameroon prediction

After getting the first part of the job done away from home, Algeria should seal their spot in Qatar - but expect a low-scoring affair.

A 0-0 draw.
