Fulham have completed the signing of Alfie Mawson from Swansea on a four-year deal, as their ambitious summer overhaul continues apace.

The former England Under-21 international has joined for a fee believed to be in the region of £20million, meaning the Cottagers have spent in excess of £75m making Slavisa Jokanovic’s squad ready for the Premier League.

Though Mawson won plaudits for his performances in the 2017-18 season, where he played every minute in the Premier League, he was unable to stop Swansea from slipping into the Championship and the Welsh side have since opted to cash in on one of their most sellable assets.

Mawson, 24, is the sixth major signing Fulham have made this summer, following big name additions including Jean-Michael Seri, Andre Schurrle and Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Mawson could prove to be a shrewd investment by the Cottagers and is expected to partner Tim Ream in central defence. Jokanovic was previously forced to deploy Denis Odoi in a makeshift role and though the Belgian impressed in patches Fulham had been keen to add Premier League experience to the position.
