ADO Den Haag have announced that Alan Pardew and his coaching team have left the club by mutual consent after four months in charge.

The Dutch outfit were spared relegation following the Royal Dutch Football Association's (KNVB) decision to cancel the season after the government suspended sporting events until September due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Pardew, who won just one of his eight matches in charge, leaves four months after he was appointed along with assistant coaches Chris Powell and Paul Butler in December 2019.

The former Crystal Palace and West Ham manager's contract was due to expire in June and ADO confirmed the managerial trio had mutually agreed to terminate their contracts.

ADO's general manager Mohammed Hamdi said: “Alan stuck his neck out four months ago by taking the job at ADO Den Haag in a very difficult season for the club. We have a lot of respect for that, which also applies to his track record in football.

"Due to the coronavirus situation, football could only be played until March 7, but we thank Alan, Chris and Paul for their efforts.

"We wish them the best of luck and have informed them that they will always be welcome at our club.”

Pardew was quoted bidding farewell on the club's website: "I have positive feelings for this club and I have enjoyed the passion of the fans. I look back on a beautiful adventure in the Netherlands.

"It is a pity that the collaboration ends, but I wish ADO Den Haag every success in the future. ”

The Englishman this week denied claims he had taken a bonus, reported to be £100,000, for helping ADO survive relegation and the 58-year-old encouraged the club to donate it towards the fight against Covid-19 in the Netherlands.
