AFC Wimbledon climbed to within a point of the League One play-off places with a 2-1 victory over Bury at Gigg Lane this evening.

Jonathan Meades headed home in injury time to seal a memorable fightback and extend the south Londoners' unbeaten league run to seven games.

But Neal Ardey's side fell behind early on when Paul Robinson upended James Vaughan, giving Neil Danns the chance to slot home from the penalty spot.

The Dons replied when Andy Barcham produced a weaving run on the left flank before picking out Lyle Taylor, who flicked a header into the net.

Barcham almost sent his side into the break in front only to see his effort deflected wide after more impressive link up play with Taylor.

Rain-soaked conditions worsened during the second half but Ardley refused to let the game fizzle out, making a double substitution with Dominic Poleon and Alfie Egan introduced for Taylor and Dannie Bulman.

The Dons manager's positive changes paid off the in the dying seconds when left-back Meades powered home in front of the jubilant travelling fans to move the Dons up to ninth place in the table.
