Fletcher confirms security breach

12 April 2012

England coach Duncan Fletcher admitted that the tourists are concerned about the "breach of security" which led to a copy of their detailed plans for bowling in the fourth Test being leaked to Australian radio station ABC.

The plans, prepared by analyst Mark Garaway, detailed the best ways for dismissing Australia's line-up and were broadcasted by ABC.

Copies of the plans were pinned up in the England dressing room and Fletcher told BBC Radio Five Live: "We're concerned that our confidence and security has been breached."

He added: "We took every precaution that we could. They (copies of the plan) were put up on the (dressing room) board every morning and taken down every night.

"We know that two of those copies were together and we say 'how does one copy detach itself from the other copy and end up on the floor'."

Fletcher also claimed that England had been on their guard following an incident during the first Test in Brisbane but refused to elaborate on what had happened on that occasion.

"There was an incident that happened in Brisbane," he said. "I'll leave it at that."
