England's Ormond moves to Surrey

13 April 2012

England bowler James Ormond has become the latest Test player to sign for Surrey after leaving Leicestershire.

Ormond, 24, who suffered at the hands of the Indian batsmen in England's First Test defeat this week, has agreed a three-year deal.

Ormond, who made his Test debut at The Oval during the summer's Ashes series, spent seven years at Grace Road. The mediumpacer becomes the 15th player at Surrey who has played international cricket.

Meanwhile, Lancashire have turned down a request by former captain John Crawley, who still has three years to run on his contract, to leave the Old Trafford club.
