Downes in dumps

The dismissal of Stephen Evans against Tranmere typified Brentford's run of bad luck, according to manager Wally Downes.

The Welshman was sent off in the 10th minute for a wreckless challenge, but his team-mates battled it out for a 2-2 draw, Stephen Hunt and Ben May scoring.

Brentford have not won for nine games. "We're not getting the rub of the green," said Downes. "It would've been easy for the others to crumble but they did well."
