Di Canio on target

There was a double boost for Alan Curbishley ahead of the visit of Manchester United on Saturday as Paolo Di Canio scored twice for Charlton reserves and Richard Rufus made his first appearance in four months.

Di Canio struck twice as the second string thrashed Fulham 4-0 at the Valley and the Italian will now be pushing for a starting place for Saturday's game.

Rufus has been out with a knee injury but played almost an hour before coming off as a precaution.
