Davis blow for Santini

Sean Davis will be out of action for at least a month after undergoing knee surgery.

The Tottenham midfielder has been hampered by a knee problem for much of the season and aggravated the injury during last weekend's 2-0 defeat at Fulham.

Club doctor Charlotte Cowie said: "He has had trouble for a number of weeks now and, unfortunately, he sustained a knock at the weekend which caused further problems. We scanned him early, sought specialist advice and he underwent surgery yesterday."

Davis's place against Charlton on Saturday is likely to be filled by Jamie Redknapp, who is available after suspension, although Michael Carrick could start.

Thimothee Atouba remains sidelined by the knee ligament injury he suffered at Portsmouth last month. Cowie, however, is pleased with the Cameroon midfielder's progress and hopes he will be fit again in two weeks.

There is a less definite timescale for left-back Erik Edman, who is still being closely monitored by medical staff after suffering concussion four weeks ago.

Cowie added: "We will make sure we get him absolutely right before he goes back on the pitch."

Anthony Gardner could be ready to deputise against Charlton providing he recovers from a minor foot complaint. If not, Goran Bunjevcevic or Mauricio Taricco are head coach Jacques Santini's other options at left-back.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are asking fans to pay up to £4,750 for season tickets in the best seats at their new stadium. The club are hoping to create a new level of wealthy fans who can afford to pay large sums for a good view and free half-time drinks when they move from Highbury in 2006.

Places in the 6,700-seat Club Level tier at the Emirates Stadium are the first to have been put on sale after executive boxes. The most expensive are double the cost of similar seats at Chelsea.

The cheapest season tickets at the new level are £2,500 for entrance to every first-team game. But fans who want to sit above the halfway line with the best views have to commit for four years and pay a two-season deposit of £9,500 and the rest in 2006.

An Arsenal spokesman said: "The Club Level will represent an exclusive area. They can be purchased on one to four-year contracts with the high quality being reflected in the pricing."

The tier will be on the same level as the directors' box and fans will have access to restaurants and bars . Arsenal have already sold 90 per cent of their 153 executive boxes for the new stadium.
