Andrew Strauss believes the majority of England players have decided to tour Bangladesh this winter.

The trip, comprising three one-day internationals and two Tests, was cleared by ECB security expert Reg Dickason, who carried out checks on the country following a terrorist attack in the capital, Dhaka, in July.

Australia have previously pulled teams out of tours of Bangladesh and one-day captain Eoin Morgan admitted he had still not made up his mind. Strauss, the England managing director, will hold further discussions with Morgan before the touring party is announced on September 16. Players are expected to make a final call over the weekend and they face some pressure since Strauss admitted for the first time yesterday that anyone pulling out risks their place.

Strauss told BBC Test Match Special: “A lot of players have probably made up their minds but there are still one or two who want to have further conversations with people and that is fine.

“Eoin has had concerns and has spoken to me and others about those concerns. I will be clear after I have spoken to him tomorrow.”

Test captain Alastair Cook is thought to have committed to the tour.
