Three wickets for Martin Saggers early in Lancashire's second innings at Blackpool left the visitors well on top at lunch. Kent skipper David Fulton had enforced the follow-on with Lancashire dismissed 237 behind.

Sussex

Trevor Ward made exactly 50, taking Leicestershire to 225 for five. But Ward fell to Mushtaq Ahmed and three more quick wickets meant that, with the home side nine down at lunch and only 151 ahead, Sussex remained firm favourites.

Middlesex

Having been forced to follow on this morning, Middlesex suffered more trouble against Warwickshire at Southgate. Melvyn Betts claimed the wickets of Andrew Strauss (23) and James Dalrymple, who out for a duck, to leave the hosts struggling.

Hampshire

Chris Tremlett was the star of the show as Hampshire wrapped up a miraculous victory against Glamorgan at the Rose Bowl today.
The 21-year-old took four wickets to finish with six for 51 as Glamorgan were all out for 104. Despite following on, the home side, who were second from bottom, won by 93.
