Coulthard promises to get back on track

13 April 2012

David Coulthard has vowed to launch his World Championship fight-back on home soil by winning the British Grand Prix at Silverstone next week.

The 30-year-old Scot insists he is not giving up the title fight despite falling 31 points behind Michael Schumacher after his rival racked up his 50th career win in France yesterday.

Coulthard knows he has to start winning again soon after finishing fourth in Magny-Cours having been hit by a stop-go penalty for speeding in the pit-lane.

"Obviously I need to win races and I am now concentrating on Silverstone," said Coulthard. "There could be no better time to make it three British Grand Prix wins in a row.

"But the World Championship has not been won or lost at Magny-Cours. The points gap between Michael and myself has increased and the situation is difficult but not hopeless.

"There are still seven races to go and I will take them one at a time because you can never guess what will happen."
