Catalans strike back for victory

12 April 2012

Catalans Dragons overturned a 10-point deficit to cement their third position in engage Super League with a hard-fought 24-16 win at Bradford.

Mick Potter's side trailed 12-2 after half an hour but Casey McGuire, Sebastien Raguin, John Wilson and Justin Murphy all crossed to avenge their Challenge Cup defeat at the same venue less than a month ago.

Sam Burgess and Ben Jeffries had helped the Bulls establish the early authority but Bradford appeared to tire as the game wore on and Catalans took full advantage to claim their 10th league win of the season.

Meanwhile in Sunday's other match, Michael Monaghan inspired Warrington to a vital 40-24 victory on the road as the Wolves dumped Harlequins at the Stoop.

For caretaker coach James Lowes it was a successful first game in charge as Warrington arrested their recent slide down the table with an important win at their play-off rivals.

Despite the searing heat, both sides displayed their attacking intent early on with some great defence keeping the scoresheet blank.
