Button incentive for GP fans

12 April 2012

British Grand Prix organisers have promised to dip into their pockets and reward fans if Jenson Button wins at Silverstone next season.

Button scored his first win last month in Hungary and if he can repeat that performance on home soil, Silverstone bosses will dish out £50 to grandstand ticket holders.

Silverstone managing director Richard Phillips said: "It would be great if a British driver won. Jenson and David Coulthard always enjoy huge support at the British Grand Prix, but our offer to give fans £50 back if Jenson wins his home race will take that support to an entirely new level."

Next season's race reverts to its traditional slot on the calendar with a July 8 date and tickets sales have increased following Button's Hungarian win.

The cash back scheme is offered to fans who buy tickets before the end of the month, with prices starting at £99 for the weekend.
