Tyson Fury’s heavyweight undisputed title fight with Oleksandr Usyk is reportedly off after talks fell through between both camps.
The pair had been due to meet in London on April 29 with Fury getting a 70-30 split in his favour over his Ukrainian opponent.
Fury’s promoter Frank Warren had hoped to make an imminent announcement over the fight deal but, according to the Press Association, the fight at the end of next month is now officially off.
The heavyweight fight between Fury and Usyk has long been mooted, and Fury said it was his sole objective in the wake of his last WBC title defence against Derek Chisora in London back in December.
A deal was reached for the undisputed fight but promoters for both fighters were still squabbling over the final terms, which included Fury donating £1million to the victims of Russia’s Ukraine invasion in order for Usyk to agree to his preferable split.
Usyk is believed to have halted his training camp and will instead turn his attentions to another opponent in the coming months.
